Continuity

Sketch a smooth wave — easy, the pen never leaves the page. Now sketch a curve with a single missing point — the pen has to lift, hop the hole, and come back down. That tiny lift is a discontinuity. Continuity is 'no lifts': the function has no jumps, no holes, no asymptotes. But the precise version is three conditions, and each one catches a different way a function can break.
