One-Sided Limits

A hiker approaches a ridge from the west and is at 10 feet. Another approaches the same spot from the east and is at 100 feet. Same location, totally different elevations on the approach — there's a sheer cliff between them. A limit has a left side and a right side, and if they don't agree, there's a jump. No single landing value exists. The limit simply does not exist.
