Integrating Factors

The left side of y′ + P(x)·y won't integrate as-is — it's two terms, not a derivative. But what if you multiply the whole equation by a carefully chosen function so that the left side becomes exactly the derivative of a product? That magic multiplier is the integrating factor, and it turns solving into plain integration.
