Complex & Repeated Roots

Sometimes ar² + br + c = 0 has no real roots — the discriminant is negative. Don't panic: complex roots are where oscillation is hiding. And when the discriminant is exactly zero, the two roots collapse into one, and you'll need a clever extra term. These two cases complete the homogeneous story.
