Your contacts. The songs in a playlist. The even numbers. The toppings on a pizza. Each is just a bunch of things gathered under one name. Math calls such a collection a set, and almost all of modern mathematics is built from this one humble idea. Once you can say what's inside a set and what isn't, you can describe almost anything.
