Special Right Triangles

A square folded corner-to-corner makes a triangle with two equal sides and a right angle. An equilateral triangle sliced down the middle makes a triangle with a 30° and a 60° angle. These two triangles show up everywhere — and their side ratios are fixed forever. Lock in the ratios and you'll skip the Pythagorean theorem every time.
