Transformations: Rotations & Dilations

Spin a wheel and every spoke rotates by the same angle. Zoom into a photo and every feature grows by the same factor. These are rotations and dilations — one turns a shape in place, the other resizes it. A rotation keeps size fixed; a dilation keeps shape fixed but changes size.
