Proofs: The Foundation

A detective notices a pattern: every victim had a red umbrella. That's a conjecture — a guess built from evidence. But a guess isn't proof. To convict, the detective needs an airtight chain: this person was here, therefore this happened. Geometry works the same way. Patterns suggest truth; proofs guarantee it.
