How wide is the opening?
Open a laptop just a crack and the screen barely tilts. Open it wide and it lies nearly flat. The hinge hasn't changed — only the spread between the two halves has. That spread, that amount of opening, has a name and a number: an angle, measured in degrees.
An angle is the amount of rotation between two rays sharing a starting point.
