Parallel & Perpendicular Lines

Railroad tracks stretch to the horizon and never meet — that's parallel. A ladder stands straight up against a wall, meeting it in a perfect corner — that's perpendicular. These two relationships between lines are the skeleton of nearly every shape in geometry.
