Why Pi Exists

Picture a coin, a dinner plate, and the Earth. Wildly different sizes — but each is a perfect circle. Here's the strange part: if you wrap a string once around any of them and lay it across the diameter, the string always measures the same number of diameters. A coin. A plate. A planet.
