Change of Variables & the Jacobian

Why does polar give dA = r dr dθ? Why does spherical give ρ²sinφ? They look unrelated, but they're the same rule. Any change of variables warps space, and the local area- (or volume-) stretch is captured by one number: the Jacobian determinant. Substitute coordinates, multiply by the Jacobian, and any integral transforms correctly.
