Newton's Third Law

You step off a small boat onto a dock — and the boat shoots backward beneath you. A swimmer pushes water back and glides forward. A rocket throws fire downward and climbs into the sky. In every case, to move one way you have to shove something the other way. You can't push on the world without the world pushing right back.
