Some things are certain — the sun will rise tomorrow. Some are impossible — you won't roll a 7 on an ordinary die. But most of life lives in between: maybe it rains, maybe your team wins, maybe the bus is late. Probability is the brilliant idea that we can pin down that fuzzy "maybe" with a single number.
