Radians vs Degrees

A full turn is 360 degrees. Why 360? Because the ancient Babylonians counted in base-60 and 360 fit their calendar (almost 365 days in a year). It's a beautiful historical accident — but mathematically, 360 is arbitrary. The circle itself suggests a more honest unit, one that comes from measuring the circle rather than from the sky.
